Everyone would like to live in a spacious apartment with a good planning. However, it’s very difficult to find a place that meets all of your expectations. It’s much easier to buy two neighboring apartments and combine them as private designers Ruslan and Maria Green have done in this design project.
How to combine two apartments into one?
If two apartments share one wall and are located on opposite sides of the hallway, it makes sense to occupy that space of the hallway and make one big apartment. In order to legalize this re-planning you will need to receive the consent of other people who live in the building and buy that space.
In this project two neighboring apartments and a part of the hallway were combined. The total area of the new apartments is 95 square meters.
First variant of replanning
The first version (in the illustration above) offers to make a master bedroom with a bathroom and a large walk-in closet with a relaxation area and a dressing table in one part of the apartment, and a kitchen-dining room, living room (separated from the kitchen by sliding doors), an office and a guest bathroom in the other part. In this variant we do not attach loggias to the room (there are three of them in the apartment). As for the apartment’s interior it needs to be designed in one style which will visually unite the space.
Second variant of re-planning
The second variant of a re-planning solution In the second variant, private and common-use areas are separated. The common-use areas are a spacious kitchen-dining room with a large dining group and TV area, a living room with a corner sofa and a guest bathroom. A private area includes a study, a master bedroom with a bathroom, and a spacious storage system. The space of the bedroom is expanded by an attached loggia, where there is a dressing table and a small sofa. There is a small closet at the entrance to the apartment which allows not cluttering the hallway.
