TV projects with designers Ruslan and Maria Green
Nothing seems to be easier than interior decoration. Once the renovation is completed, how hard could it be to find suitable fabrics, pictures, figurines and other accessories? Interior decoration is actually an art mastered only by designers who know the laws of color combination, floral design, fabrics and finishing materials, and who can, if necessary, create real theatrical stage sets. In their TV show About Decor, Ruslan and Maria Green give specific examples of the transformational power of decor and how it can dramatically change any room.
Very often Ruslan and Maria are called to resolve unusual design problems on their TV show on TNT. For example, they can be asked how to make an ordinary room lively, or how to enliven a gloomy room, or how to bring life to an empty space using just paints, fabrics, accessories, and their artistic imagination.
Chinese motifs in living-dining room
In one program, Ruslan and Maria Green worked on a living room-dining room design. The room with beige walls and dark furniture had, to start with, an awkward structure. The room zoning was good, but Ruslan and Maria immediately noticed that the living room interior lacked colors as well as vivid, memorable touches.
Ruslan and Maria Green decided to use red and gold shades, and the combination of these colors immediately brought into the room a feel of Imperial China. They brought in the picture of a dragon, another Chinese motif that gave more character to the interior. A clock and a huge golden cat, which in China symbolizes comfort, were the finishing touches that brought the interior of the room together.
Black and white bedroom in Art Deco style
This bedroom for newlyweds was already in black and white tones and was clearly in need of an exclusive decor. Ruslan and Mary Green bravely took on this challenge which they saw as an opportunity to show their ability to transform an interior with only a few striking elements. Bright red and deep green tones were used to enliven the monochrome composition. Dark women’s silhouettes on the light bedroom background added some mystery to the bedroom. Thanks to Ruslan’s and Maria’s creative approach, the Art Deco style stood out in all its glory, as initially intended for this bedroom interior.
A professional and creative approach to decorating can transform an ordinary well-renovated apartment into a designer apartment.
